Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to visit this website and find out more about the role of Deputy Principal here at Holy Cross College and University Centre.

Our College is dedicated to the academic, personal and spiritual growth of all who pass through our doors. We aim to create a learning environment that is inclusive, values individuality and cares for one another’s wellbeing. We’ve been educating young people in Bury since 1878, and are now one of the top ten colleges nationwide for university entry. Our Catholic values and ethos underpin and permeate all that we do and we foster a culture that is welcoming to all, that embraces people’s differences, and is designed to support and encourage students to reach their full academic and personal potential.

Our most recent Ofsted judgement of ‘Good’ in December 2018 confirmed that we had made rapid progress in a short period, and we are committed to sustaining this improvement, embedding and developing high quality teaching and learning that supports outstanding outcomes for our students. And we are positive about the future: confident in our ability to sustain the momentum of improvement through harnessing the commitment and talent of our staff; and assured that our financial resilience forms an excellent foundation on which to build.

We recently appointed our Principal-designate, Carina Vitti, who will be joining us from Aquinas College in August 2020. Our new Deputy Principal will therefore join us at a pivotal point in our college’s journey, and play a key part in the Core Leadership Team from their first day. I and Carina look forward to working closely with the successful candidate to drive the highest standards throughout the College; to work collaboratively with all staff to create an outstanding learning environment; and to continue to inspire our students to achieve the very best outcomes possible.

We have engaged Navigate NDC to support us in making this important appointment. I encourage you to contact David Gooda or Raymond Kelly on 01625 800862 to discuss the role and its requirements in more detail, or to arrange a visit to the College.

I wish you well in your application.

Chair of Governors
