The Role

Deputy Principal
£competitive

We are incredibly proud of the improvement journey that the college has undertaken in recent years, and our new Deputy Principal will have the opportunity to contribute at a senior and strategic level to the next stage of this journey. You will play an important part, supporting the Principal, in enabling the organisation, our students and our staff to flourish. We want to recruit a senior, experienced college leader who can build on our achievements and work with our high-performing team in a way that inspires a collaborative, supportive working environment. It’s crucial to us that everyone understands they have a stake in success, and are clear around how they can make the greatest impact on students’ futures.

We expect that candidates will have experience at Assistant Principal level or upwards, and your current role is likely to have given you a nuanced understanding of quality, curriculum, and teaching & learning. You may have held posts such as Senior Tutor or Head of Department before taking on your current college-wide responsibilities. We will be looking for evidence that you can quickly establish a strong, collegiate and credible profile, and rapidly assume whole-College leadership responsibilities.

A clear sense of professional and personal vocation will set the strongest candidates apart. You should be able to lead with humility and integrity, enabling others to excel. By instilling confidence in others you’ll help to foster a working environment where professionals are trusted to succeed, and supported to develop their own and collective capacity. It’s essential that your own values resonate with the Catholic ethos of the College, and that you can embed these values into daily college life: we are committed to creating a learning environment that is welcoming and inclusive, where students feel safe and cared for, and where they have the opportunity to develop as individuals, as well as achieving their academic potential.
